How to use this site

Teacher notes and pupil notes

The resource papers and pages of the web site have been designed to be used together or as stand alone units. The background notes explain in more detail information relating to general production, legislation, packaging and marketing. There are also notes on particluar types of soft drink product, which aim to explain the various processes behind their production from their origins and ingredients to their delivery to the consumer. The notes are divided into the following sections:

Pupil Activities

The pupil activities are divided into sections for Key Stage 3 Design & Technology, Maths, English and Science and Key Stage 4 Science. Some of the activities carry extensions which can be used for further lessons or for individual or group project work. The activities for each subject are:

Work-Related Learning
Teachers can combine this section with their lesson plans to enable students in Key Stage 3 or 4 to gain experience of some aspects of the soft drinks industry. In this section, students will be expected to design, produce and market a new soft drink, and produce display materials outlining their work.
